About BMI

01 What is BMI?

BMI, or Body Mass Index, is a measure that uses your height and weight to work out if your weight is healthy. It is a useful tool to identify whether an individual might be underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese.

02 How is BMI calculated?

BMI is calculated by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of their height in meters. For example, if your weight is 70 kg and your height is 1.75 meters, your BMI is 70 / (1.75 * 1.75) = 22.86.
