It is a chronic foreign body reaction caused by hair and hair follicles accumulating in the subcutaneous soft tissue and is a disease that disrupts daily activity and quality of life and causes loss of workforce in the long term.

Open Release Technique: After the diseased tissue is removed, the wound is left open. It heals spontaneously with dressings. Recurrence rates are quite low.
Primary Repair: After the diseased tissue is removed, the wound is sutured and closed. The repetition rate is high.
Flap Methods: After the diseased tissue is removed, the intact tissue is slid into the cavity and closed. The repetition rate is low.
Phenol injection: 50% phenol is injected through the sinus mouth. This procedure is repeated two or three times and should be exposed to phenol for three minutes.
